The story of John Lindsay Quine (known as Dono) continues with the end of the First World War and his move in the Royal Navy to join the ship H.M.S. Valentine. Three 'V' Class ships ventured to the Baltic. Only one remained intact! John tells of the events leading to the discovery and escape of a Russian lady of some nobility - a cracking story.

The book takes you on a tour of John's life, leading to his position in the Manx House of Keys & further episodes at sea. Many anecdotes (with a good dose of humour) paint an interesting picture of the man and his patriotic love of his little Island - the Isle of Man. John gives a detailed account of his trip to New Zealand in 1950, describing the voyage and many places of note, including Pitcairn Island.

Book 1 (Odyssey of a Marine Engineer 1906 to 1918 ) covers John's early years in the Merchant Navy and Royal Navy and contains many of his adventures at sea and the ships he worked on.

I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I have enjoyed putting it together!
