Now that SpaceX has launched the first test flight of Starship we can begin the full industrialization of space. With its ability to land 100 tons on the surface of Mars, space missions no longer need to be small and efficient.

Promise of Mars takes place in the near future as humanity tries to establish a permanent colony on the red planet. Jack Maddox is an accountant who is responsible for keeping track of the colony's oxygen reserves. When he finds that the numbers don’t add up, he gets dragged into a mystery that can only be solved with science and engineering.

The story focuses more on the technology that will be needed to build a Mars colony than action. It should be enjoyable for anyone who loves the astronaut doing engineering in space genre.
